Putnam Sheriff's Deputy Arrests Dutchess Man On Heroin Charge PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Dutchess County man on a heroin possession charge. A deputy stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 9D in the Town of Philipstown on Friday, Feb. 5, officials report. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Anthony O’Neil Nash Jr., 29, of Wappingers Falls, held a suspended license, according to police. Ramapo Police Charge Suspect With Marijuana Possession RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have charged an unidentified suspect with marijuana possession following a traffic stop. An officer stopped a motor vehicle in the village of Airmont for a traffic violation on Saturday, according to officials. Upon further investigation, a passenger was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and an outstanding bench warrant, police report.

State Police Report Results Of Putnam Underage Drinking Detail PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A drinking-age enforcement operation launched by the New York State Police revealed that Putnam County-area businesses were compliant with state laws. The state police conducted an underage drinking enforcement operation in Putnam County on Saturday, officials report. New Canaan Historical Society To Host Children's Tea And Craft Event NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New Canaan Historical Society is hosting a "Valentine’s Day Tea and Craft Workshop" for children age 5 to 11 on Friday, Feb. 12, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Participants will get to prepare their own afternoon tea and treats, and create a special Valentine’s Day craft in the Victorian tradition. Police Chiefs Association Honors Fairfield's McCarthy Vahey With Award FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Connecticut Police Chiefs Association recently presented State Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey (D-Fairfield) with a legislative award in recognition of her efforts on behalf of law enforcement in Connecticut. McCarthy Vahey thanked the group for the honor and praised them for their work.
